30% Federal Tax credit will decrease after 2019!
The federal solar tax credit, also known as the investment tax credit (ITC), allows you to deduct 30 percent of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes. The ITC applies to both residential and commercial systems, and there is no cap on its value. Thanks to the ITC, the average homeowner saves over $5,000 on the cost of going solar in 2019.
California has the 7th highest electricity rate in 2019
According to the Energy Information Administration, California ranks #7 for states with the highest electricity rate. The average retail prices being 16.06 cents/kWh for the entire state of CA. In San Diego, rates are even higher. SDG&E’s lowest priced tier starts at 27 cents/kWh with their highest tier reaching 55 cents/kWh. These numbers are based on 1/1/18 SDG&E DR Residential Summer rates in the Inland Zone.
